Just by following some other blogs, tutorials, and documentation, I could enhance my knowledge about using WordPress to create a blog to share my thoughts, hardships, and curious things that happened to me during my journey of learning new things, improve my writing skills and share with other the joy of learning new things.
Getting the idea
Since long ago I had this interest in creating a blog, but I don’t really know about what I will be posting here, after some deliberation, I just wanted to post about something I like, and I like to learn things, not always to get a whole course, certification or class about a wider topic, but maybe something I read somewhere and pique my interest, it can be something new that still don’t have a course, something that all the tutorials are on other languages or it’s just a small update where a lot of time is not necessary, maybe on my journey I will be stuck, get lost or end on a weird way, but I will try to always share about my learning about that topic.
Starting the process
I had a lot of courses, tutorials, and other blogs saved to start researching how to create a blog using WordPress, but never reviewed them because I always think of doing it later, also I already had a hosting plan after using a discount code of a certain YouTuber, after that, I created a simple bullet point note on my cellphone about the highlight I need to create the blog:
On the list was:
- Decide the name of the page
- Buy a domain following the name of the page
- start thinking about a logo and the colors for the page
- Review all the info I have about WordPress
- Select the useful and clear info between all the info gathered
- Follow a tutorial (maybe)
- Create the sections and categories
- Think about the first post
- Customize the theme and colors used

First was getting the domain name, because I already knew which name I would choose for my blog (Learning Something), fortunately with the hosting plan I can choose one domain for free the first year, so acquiring the domain was easy, on the panel on my hosting platform they add a button for claim my domain, I just need to search one domain with ne name I decided and decide which ending I want on the domain, I choose .cloud.
After that, I got to dive into the information I had saved for later about WordPress, I just sat and read/watch all the tutorials and blogs I selected to review, using one or two hours a day for a week was sufficient to start testing my knowledge on real WordPress pages.
After creating (and deleting) different pages with WordPress just follow the tutorials and documentation to get to know the interface, the sections, and basic information about the panel on WordPress, Finally, I create a new page, with the different sections on the page, the tags for the posts, create the privacy policy, and lastly started to write the first post.
I will not enter in details here about WordPress, because I’m planning to create another post only with my learning progress about WordPress, so this post only had my progress or planning about the creative process, I will post this but the work continues, I will keep learning and improving the blog, it may be just changing colors, adding a new thing or a complete redesign, who knows, but that will happen at a later date, this is a test and can be improved and innovated, while already having up my blog sharing more about my learnings and maybe helping someone clear doubts or solve problems I faced during my journey.
